A legend worldwide, Paul McCartney is an icon for a whole generation giving a fresh sound to rock ‘n roll, and changing the face of music forever. Paul McCartney says: “I always remember hearing such great things about this festival and it has such a sense of history with the likes of Jimi Hendrix playing there the first time round. it will be my first show on the Isle of Wight, and I can’t wait to rock and roll for the people over there!”
Festival promoter John Giddings adds: “Forty years after Jimi Hendrix performed ‘Hey Joe’ at Seaclose Park we’ve finally gotten to ‘Hey Jude’ I can’t wait!”
His shows have reached new legendary status in recent years, receiving great reviews from critics and fans. He always pushed musical boundaries, performing in front of milliions in Red Square, Russia, outside the Roman Coliseum and a live performance to a NASA space station.
UK fans recently got a taste for the live shows last Christmas when he bought the ‘Good Evening Europe’ tour to the great finish at the 02 Arena in London – the only uk show of the year. Reviews for the show were unprecedented and proved that nobody should miss the forthcoming shows.
